Accredited Pipeliner Index (AP Index)
The Accredited Pipeliner Index (AP Index) is a centralized reference site designed to support industry, regulators, and employers in navigating established personnel competency and qualification systems used in the pipeline and energy transportation sector.
The AP Index does not issue credentials, conduct assessments, or certify individuals. Its sole purpose is to provide a neutral, structured gateway to recognized systems operated by their respective issuing organizations.
Two distinct categories are presented:
- Competency Systems – frameworks that assess and attest to an individual’s overall competence for defined roles, typically incorporating training, experience, and assessment elements.
- Qualification Systems – programs that issue specific qualifications, certificates, or endorsements based on examinations, training completion, or defined technical criteria.
By consolidating access to these systems in one location, the AP Index helps users quickly identify appropriate pathways for personnel competence and qualification verification, while preserving the independence, authority, and responsibility of each issuing organization.
